Design 42: The Event Company is the vision of Fortuna Ludmir. Born in Lima, Peru where she studied law and worked as an attorney in the financial industry, Fortuna switched gears after moving to Miami and becoming a mother to Sebastian, 13, and Daniella, 11. “I loved practicing law, but I always felt that I wanted to combine my passion for design with my business experience and build something that would make a difference,” she says.

Today, Fortuna brings that passion to Design 42, which has quickly become a highly successful full-service event design, consultation and planning team with clients spanning the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean. Her design aesthetic is modern, fresh, and always unexpected. She seemingly creates magical worlds out of thin air using a sophisticated mix of color and texture and always the unique attention to detail that has brought her this far.
